Redd is from Missouri and later moved to Naperville, a suburb in Chicago when he was still a kid. Redd had a childhood stutter, and he started learning how to rap to overcome the issue. He also started doing improvisational theater classes when attending a community college in Illinois to improve his self-confidence.
