Dan Soder
Dan Soder is a stand-up comedian based in New York. He also makes appearances on the radio and has proven his talent as an actor so far in his career.
Dan is well-loved for playing the character of Mafee since 2016 in Billions, a drama series on Showtime. He is also often seen making appearances on Guy Code on MTV2 and has been co-hosting The Bonfire with Big Jay Oakerson since 2015 on Sirius XM Radio.
Dan is of Irish descent and was born in Connecticut and grew up in Aurora, Colorado. He lost his father while still in high school, and his sister passed away two years later. While growing up, he became close to Mike McDaniel, the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
The inception of his comedy career occurred during his time as a student at the University of Arizona, from where he graduated with a degree in political science and journalism in 2005. Dan shifted his life to New York a year after graduating from college.
Career and Accomplishments
Dan Soder had his very first HBO comedy special titled Son of a Gary in 2019. Performed in NYC and taped at The Bowery Ballroom in front of a live audience, the show sold out pretty quickly and had Dan talk about things that affect him deeply, using his honest and unique humor.
He has been seen on The Anthony Cumia Show, Opie and Anthony, Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents, Cum Town, and Conan.
Dan’s first stand-up special was titled Not Special, and unlike the name, it was all sorts of special. Released in May of 2016, the comedian was seen offering his clever take on subjects such as ways to relieve stress, tech-savvy toddlers, the single-child syndrome, and more.
He has made appearances on Inside Amy Schumer as a guest star multiple times and was also a part of her movie, Trainwreck, which was released in 2015. Dan was also seen making a special appearance on Wrestling Soup, a famous podcast on wrestling.
He was seen alongside veteran actors like Alec Baldwin and Salma Hayek in the movie, Drunk Parents in 2019. Netflix released a comedy series named The Standups in July of 2017, featuring Dan's stand-up set in the first season's sixth episode.
