DeRay Davis
DeRay Davis is a stand-up comedian who has also made an appearance as an actor in certain entertainment pieces.
Not much is known about his personal life except the fact that the comedian was born in Chicago, Illinois and his entry into the world of comedy took place through performances at various comedy clubs.
As far as his romantic life is concerned, Davis has dated Caro Peguero and Coco Crawford in the past. There have also been rumors in the past of him dating the famous American actress, Tracee Ellis Ross, but there haven’t been comments from Davis himself about it.
Sources reveal that he’s still looking for someone who is right for him.
Career and Accomplishments
In order to build a career in comedy, Davis shifted to Los Angeles. Soon enough, he ended up winning the Comedy Central Laugh Riots Competition and was also a part of Cedric the Entertainer Tour.
Davis has received a lot of love, fame, and recognition due to his character as Ray the Hustle Guy in the comedy movies, Barbershop and Barbershop 2: Back in Business.
The movies also starred actors such as Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Eve, Sean Patrick Thomas, Michael Ealy, Leonard Earl Howze, Harry Lennix, Troy Garity, and Queen Latifah.
Some of the other movies that Davis has been a part of are, How High 2 (2019), 21 Jump Street (2012), and Semi-Pro (2008).
He has been seen in multiple TV shows, making appearances in a variety of programs. A couple of them include MTV's Wild 'n Out and Short Circuitz, Comedy Central's Reno 911, FOX's Empire, BET's ComicView, HBO's Entourage, and FX's Snowfall.
The first game show he hosted was Game Show Network’s Mind of a Man. Davis made an appearance on Living with Funny, which is a reality TV show on Oxygen. The revival of Hip Hop Squares had Davis as its host, and it was narrated and produced by Ice Cube.
Davis got to be a part of rapper Kanye West's albums, such as Late Registration and The College Dropout. He had put up an impersonation of Bernie Mac in the opening track of Late Registration, titled Intro, where he appeared as the lead of Broke Phi Broke, the fictional fraternity.
Kanye West has also featured him in his music video for the track, Through the Wire.
