Eddie Ifft
Eddie Ifft is a stand-up comedian, writer, and actor. Born on 14th March 1971 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he graduated from Fox Chapel Area High School with honors in 1990.
Post his graduation from the University of Pittsburgh, where he took part in track and field and was a brother of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He shifted to New York City, where his comedy career commenced as he began to perform at clubs.
Ifft was among the five finalists in the MySpace/TBS Stand-Up or Sit-Down Competition, which was conducted in 2006. When GQ Magazine released its list of Top 75 Jokes of All Time, two of Ifft's jokes were featured in that last, coming up in the 10th and 39th positions.
Career and Achievements
Ifft has been a part of numerous comedy specials. Some of them include Comedy Central's Presents, ABC's Comics Unleashed, BET's Comic View, and NBC's Last Comic Standing. In addition, his performance was featured at the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival in New Faces in July 2001.
The stand-up comedian filmed his own half an hour special in August of 2008 for Comedy Central. Ifft has performed his comedy in more than 20 countries at numerous clubs, theaters, and TV shows.
He has been featured in multiple shows in Australia, including Rove Live, The Footy Show, The Glass House, Stand Up Australia, The Sideshow, Wil & Lehmo, Good News Week, Thank God You're Here, Spicks and Specks, and The Circle.
The Sydney Opera House was the spot where Ifft recorded his first live DVD in June 2007.
There are three live sessions of stand-up comedy specials that Ifft has recorded, namely Jokes That Make My Friends Laugh, which was released in 2006, I Learned the Hard Way, which came out in 2004, and Live from Australia, released in 2009 and was produced by RoofTop Comedy.
Eddie Ifft Live, which was in DVD format, was released in February 2011 at the Sydney Opera House by Punchline DVD. Its follow-up piece was also released by Punchline DVD in 2012.
Ifft was a guest star in 2013 on Legit, which is an FX Network sitcom. In this sitcom, he played the role of a personal trainer who strays away from his path and falls into a hole of substance abuse.
He was also seen in the pilot episode of Strap-On.
