Gary Owen
Gary Owen is a famous American actor and comedian. His big break came in 1997 when Black Entertainment Television's Comic View featured him as the "Funniest Serviceman in America." Owen then had parts in the movies Daddy Day Care, Little Man, and College after this. After being the main actor on the cable channel BET and performing at events like Shaquille O'Neal's All-Star Comedy Jam Tour, he has gained a lot of African-American fans. The Gary Owen Show, which will air on BET, is his new TV show.
Early Life
Gary Owen was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on July 26, 1974. Barb Randall and Gary Owens are his parents. Emma Owens, Kayla Owens, Kyle Soto Randall, Ashley Muska, Michelle Truss, and Dallas Edward Randall are his six sisters and brothers. They spent their formative years together as a family of seven in Oxford Trailer Park. In addition, he finished high school at Talawanda. His middle name is "Cameron."
Career
After doing stand-up comedy for a year, Owen got the title "Funniest Serviceman in America." He kept doing stand-up comedy in San Diego, where he got a lot of African-American fans. He ended up winning the contest for "Funniest Black Comedian in San Diego." Thanks to this, he was able to land his first employment at the famous Hollywood comedy club, The Comedy Store. In July of 1997, he auditioned for BET's Comic View. He got his one-hour Grandstand show after making two appearances on the multicultural comedy show. He was chosen to be the host at the end of the season out of the four "Grandstanders" of the year. Owen was the only person of color who ever ran Comic View.
In April 2011, Owen was dubbed "Black America's Favorite White Comic" by the magazine Ebony. Breakin' Out The Park and Urban Legend are two stand-up DVDs that Owen has produced. You can find either or both almost anywhere today. He appeared as a guest comic on the Starz program Martin Lawrence Presents: 1st Amendment Stand-Up.
Owen's filmography also includes roles in films like "Rebound" and "Hillbilly Highway," and he played Zack on the Tyler Perry series "House of Payne," which airs on TBS. Meet the Blacks was a comedy in which he starred, and his character, Larry, was played by him. His BET talk show is called The Gary Owen Show.
