Greg G Williams
Greg G. Williams is one of those who just manage to make people smile by being who they are. He loves people to call him only "G." Originally a male nurse by profession, Williams decided to venture into comedy because that’s what he thought gave his life meaning- being able to make people laugh.
He draws his inspiration from the various encounters he has as a male nurse, and the hospital is where he sees a lot of life's drama unfolding, giving him food for thought.
Born in Virginia and brought up in North Carolina, Williams had also served in the army for the five years of the Desert Storm. He is also a pilot and a certified youth mentor. With his impressive resume, many found it hard to believe that he would turn to comedy, but that is what keeps him grounded and sane.
Rise and Achievements as Comedian
Once back to civilian life, he trained and qualified as a male nurse to look after premature babies, and his life in the hospital gave him insight that he used in his comedy shows.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution published an article on how G. became a comedian while working as a nurse. Comedy came as a respite for someone who had been in the army and seen the horrors of life. He chose to look at the brighter side of things, and babies live healthy lives in the beautiful world.
After the article was published, G was invited to several nursing conferences, which were otherwise always thought to be utterly formal and tedious affairs. G spoke about these conferences as an ice breaker and a breath of fresh air that relieves the stress of doctors and nurses.
G started his comedy by mostly performing in Atlanta. The comedy clubs there were always full, with people eager to listen to his hilarious take on the medical world. After four successful years, G decided to expand his horizons and shifted to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he met with instant success. He also performs in San Diego and Sacramento and the towns in between.
G has been a part of several comedy festivals and counting. He also performs in HULU, and his San Jose Improv call, Nurses Night Out, is a huge hit. His sets are unique because they are clean humor, and everyone can watch them with the family.
