Henry Cho
Henry Cho is an American actor and stand-up comedian. He had worked extensively on Sirius XM Radio's Channel 98. He has also been featured on Jeff and Larry’s Comedy Roundup Channel 97 on Sirius Radio and on PG Comedy Radio by Pandora Radio.
In addition, Cho is one of the most well-known Asian-American comedians to appear frequently on the Grand Ole Opry. He also became a member of the Opry, a first for any Asian American.
Cho is of Korean descent and was born and brought up in Knoxville. He was drawn to comedy from a very young age. After completing his school and university in Knoxville, he moved to California for a conventional career but always dreamt of returning to comedy someday.
Rise as an Actor and Stand-up Comedian
Cho started doing stand-up in local clubs and once stated that his accent as an Asian was itself a funny thing to those around him while he was growing up. His humor is very relatable, and he soon started getting offers for comedy shows on television. He appeared in The Arsenio Hall Show, Young Comedians Special by Bob Hope, and 1/2 Hour Comedy Hour on MTV. In addition, he was also featured on VH-1's Stand-Up Spotlight and A&E's An Evening at the Improv.
Cho also started acting around this time, and he was seen in quite a few sitcoms like Lenny, Designing Women, and The New WKRP in Cincinnati. He also played a major role in the TV movie Revenge of the Nerd III: The Next Generation.
Cho decided to move back to his roots at this point and returned to Tennessee. He got an offer from NBC to host a new edition of “Friday Night Videos." He also commuted to Los Angeles every week. Later, he was invited to shows like “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson'' and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." He also became a keynote speaker for the 59th Annual Radio and Television Correspondents Dinner.
Cho has also starred in movies like “Say It Isn’t So," “Material Girls” and “McHale’s Navy." However, he keeps returning to comedy, and his Comedy Central Special has been touted as one of the best.
He is often dubbed "Mr. Clean" because he steers clear of any kind of profanity or objectionable content on his shows and can be enjoyed by anybody. So, if you are looking for a fun night out with friends and family, then you must catch some of his live performances.
