Jeff Allen

Born on June 5, 1956, American comedian Jeffrey Allen Mishler is better known by his stage name, Jeff Allen. His most famous film is Happy Wife, Happy Life Revisited. Bananas, Apostles of Comedy, Thou Shalt Laugh, and Apostles of Comedy: Onwards and Upwards are just some of the feature-length comedies in which he has starred and become a household name.

Early Life

He was born in Sauk Village, Illinois. Jack Mishler, Allen's dad, always wanted to be a painter but ended up in the construction industry instead. Arlene Mishler, his mother, worked at Stauffer Chemical Company for 30 years.

Career

Allen is currently performing in corporate events, churches, and comedy clubs all over the United States as part of his tour. Although he spent his first five years of life in the Windy City, his family eventually settled in Sauk Village.

In 1978, Allen started his career in Chicago's comedy clubs. He stopped drinking in 1987 and became a Christian again in 1997. Churches were a major component of his act when he worked clean, much like Bill Cosby and Jerry Seinfeld. However, his act does not include any Christian references unless the audience specifically requests them.

Jeff Allen has helped many good causes since he became a Christian. His early involvement with the Bridge Ministry was groundbreaking. He was a "World Vision Artist" for many years, which meant he performed at different events and talked about the organization's good points.

Jeff Allen joined forces with Thrivent Financial's Gestures of Generosity in 2012. Thrivent Financial is a faith-based, $75 billion not-for-profit Fortune 500 company that offers financial and charitable services worldwide.

Gestures of Generosity help a lot of good causes, like stopping people from being trafficked. Allen does show every year for Hope House International, which is a ministry for orphans around the world. Happy Wife, Happy Life, an hour-long comedy show, is on the Odyssey Channel, Family Net, and the Worship Network. He played for the troops in Bahrain and on ships in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean. He was putting on a show at Franklin Christian Academy's "SpringStation" for the first time.
