Jimmy Shubert is a prolific stand-up comedian and actor from Philadelphia. He was a finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and later appeared on Comedy Central. Now residing in Los Angeles, Jimmy is one of the busiest comedians known today. He is cherished for his appearance in movies like Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Go and on shows like Entourage, ER, and The King of Queens.

Jimmy’s splendid resume as an actor also includes “Puppy Love” and “American Nightmares” movies. Among his four stand-up albums, ‘Zero Tolerance’ released in 2020, attained the highest position on the iTunes comedy chart. This “aggressive, not overly blue comic who has a caustic take on the world," as referred to by reviewer Richard Lanoie, proved his proficiency at rant comedy.

Rise As A Popular Stand-up Comedian And Actor

Jimmy Shubert was born and raised in Philadelphia along with his five siblings. He attended Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts to study drama. But interestingly, he started his career as a professional magician at age 15.

At 18, Shubert decided to plunge into the comedy world. He gathered experiences by performing on local comedy shows instead of attending a comedy school. Later, he shifted to California for a tweak in his career. But the aspiring comedian had to work as a doorman of “The Comedy Store," the Los Angeles club, to earn a living. In addition, he was a roommate of Sam Kinison, Marc Maron, and Andrew Dice Clay.

He soon became a part of Sam Kinison’s “Outlaws of Comedy." Shubert reached new heights in 2014 after he became a finalist on "Last Comic Standing” by NBC. His performance on Comedy Underground With Dave and Comedy Central Presents also received much acclamation.

Shubert was one of the first comedians to achieve America’s most prestigious indie comedy label, “Stand Up! Record". Besides the United States, Jimmy's performance is applauded in Hong Kong, China, Ireland, Korea, Mexico, and many more.
