Jo Cormier
Jo Cormier is a Quebec-native comedian and actor. The comedian started gaining public recognition when he became the semi-finalist of “Le Prochain Stand-Up.” Success followed after he rocked the stage at Place des Arts, participating in the “Just for Laughs Gala.” He continued to add achievements to his resume one after another.
In 2019, Jo won the Abitibi Emerging Comedy Festival and made its way to his first nominations at the Gala Les Olivier. After the People’s Choice Award in 2020, he appeared in “Roast Battle: le grand duel,” where his performance earned him the winning title in the 3rd season. Jo is continuing to bang on the stage with his amazing improvisation skills.
Rise As An Accomplished Comedian
Right from an early age, Jo Cormier developed an interest in comedy. He started to make people laugh with his hilarious acts from his grade school days. And Jo continued to do so throughout his different stages of life. After graduating with a degree in Media Art and Technology, Cormier performed at many radio stations.
He is known for directing many comedy web series. And a time came when his applauders believed that there was nothing that Jo Cormier couldn’t do. So Jo performed at many festivals across the town, including the Zoofest and Mobilo Aquafest.
However, in 2017, this rising comedy star captured public attention with his appearance in Patrick Groulx’s “Just Stand-Up Gala.” His career gained more traction after joining a podcast, “Under Listening,” with Mike Ward.
Finally, he signed a contract for his first solo show, “Jo Cormier Crowbar,” which was headlined at the Bordel Comedy Club. Cormier is continuing to electrify the stage of sold-out shows in every corner of Canada and most of the United States. During his studio recordings, he is seen shouting out, “Tout lemonade gagne!” repeatedly.
Cormier’s fans gather in hit theaters like the Funny Bone Comedy Club in Columbus and the Terry Fator Theatre at the Mirage in LA to watch his engaging performance. Jo’s tour tickets are put on sale for nearly three to six months before announcing a tour. Moreover, his show tickets get fully booked soon after venues, dates, and times are declared.
Fans wrestle for the best seats for great views of Jo Cormier’s show. Within the general show span of 90 minutes to two hours, the audience is only seen to burst out in laughter and whistle at every punch of the comedian.
