Joe Derosa

This prolific American comedian can be regularly spotted on the radio show “The Opie and Anthony,” on the podcast “Down With Joe DeRosa,” or in the series “Beter Call Saul and Louie.” You may also know him as a writer of “The Pete Holmes Show.”

Joe DeRosa is applauded for his comedic personality that gets manifested in his darkly honest comedy content. He introduces everything he dislikes to his audience. Even though DeRosa was born with no shoulders, he has accomplished success in the entertainment world as a comedian, podcaster, actor, and co-author.

Rise As A Stand-up Comedian, Actor & More

DeRosa was known to be adopted by Italian-American parents in Pennsylvania. However, his comedy career started with “Deep,” a comedic musical duo in Pennsylvania. Later he started performing solo daily at Philadelphia’s Laff House and in comedy clubs in New York City.

In 2010, his first album, "The Depression Auction," was released by Comedy Central Records, followed by the second album, "Return of the Son of Depression Auction," in 2011. In the same year, DeRosa proved his efficiency as a co-producer, co-writer, co-director, and actor in the short film "Cheat."

His works also include “Overrated,” “What Are We Waiting For?” “We Should Break Up,” “You Will Die,” and many more. DeRosa began podcasting with Robert Kelly’s “You Know What Dude?” and his podcast “Down With Joe DeRosa.” Later, he became a part of several podcasts, including “Emotional Hangs,” “Uninformed,” and “Without a Country.”

This versatile comedian even created “Deep,” a comedic sex rap group collaborating with his friend James Pinkstone. However, it was soon disbanded after the release of the debut album “The Game Plan” in 2005, as the audience didn’t respond much to it. But they again reunited in 2007 for an electro pop act, “Funeral In The Mirror.” And his success as a musician came all one after another.

From his college days, DeRosa even tried his luck in acting but couldn't make out something great at that time. He studied theater but yet couldn't be a "theater major." Nevertheless, it didn't stop this versatile personality from becoming an actor - a good one. He appeared in many comedy series like "Bored to Death" on HBO and FX's Louie.

This American comedian travels a lot and is committed to making his fans laugh out of the heart. The audience loves to listen to his gut-busting comedy, which includes utterly honest and relatable facts with a comedic flair. DeRosa considers himself to be fortunate for his accomplishment as a comedian.
