Kevin Hart
Kevin Hart started show business by doing stand-up comedy and winning comedy contests in New England comedy clubs. He earned fame with comedies like "Scary Movie 3" (2003), "Think Like a Man" (2012), and "Ride Along" (2014), as well as with several comedy albums that came out between 2008 and 2013. Thus, he has managed to be one of the most popular and highly liked comedians and comedy actors in the United States.
Early Life
Kevin Hart was born on July 6, 1979, in Philadelphia. His parents were Nancy (who died in 2007) and Henry Hart. He was raised by his single mother, a systems analyst for the University of Pennsylvania's Office of Student Registration and Financial Services.
His father was a cocaine addict who spent most of Hart's childhood in and out of jail. This made Hart use humor to deal with his troubled family life. His relationship with his father got better after his dad stopped using drugs. Later, he would talk about his mother in his stand-up act, making her out to be a loving but scary woman. Hart briefly went to the Community College of Philadelphia after graduating from George Washington High School, but he dropped out and moved to New York City instead. Then he moved to Brockton, Massachusetts, where he got a job of selling shoes.
Career
Hart's first stand-up show, under the name Lil Kev, was at The Laff House in his hometown of Philadelphia. It did not go well. His career started slowly, and he was frequently booed after performances. Once, a piece of chicken was even thrown at him. After those first shows didn't go well, he entered comedy competitions all over Massachusetts, where people liked him better over time. Hart took time to find his way of making people laugh. In the beginning, he tried to be funny like Chris Tucker. Later, he found his style by discussing his fears and life experiences.
Hart's "Laugh at My Pain" tour earned more than $15 million, making it one of the best-selling comedy tours of the year. Hart also has a game called "Little Jumpman" that you can get from iTunes. This app links to and gives access to his Facebook page, Twitter account, and YouTube channel. Most of Hart's fans from outside the U.S. found him on YouTube.
Hart started his "What Now?" comedy world tour on April 9, 2015, at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. It ended on August 7, 2016, at the Columbus Civic Center in Columbus, Georgia.
