Kevin James

Kevin James is the best example of a comedian and TV performer who works hard at what they do. He is one of the most popular people when we talk about the world of acting. Kevin James has had a very interesting career. In college, he played football, but then he found that he loved stand-up comedy and changed his job to become a comedian.

Early Life

Kevin James is Janet and Joseph Valentine Knipfing's second son. His mother worked for a chiropractor, and his father ran an insurance business. He has a brother and a sister. In 1983, he finished high school at Ward Melville. He liked sports and used to play football and wrestle in matches. He went to study sports management at the State University of New York at Cortland. But he left before he could finish.

Career

When home for the semester, he auditioned for a comedy role in a play at the Shoreham-Wading River Community Theater. He was chosen, and his first appearance went well. After realizing he had a knack for making other people laugh, he decided to forego a traditional education in favor of a comedy career.

In 1989, he had the chance to do a five-minute solo stand-up act at the club, which was a big hit. He was often asked to perform there. During this time, he also worked part-time at a warehouse in the area.

In 1994, he became the announcer for the MTV sports game show "SandBlast," which was his first step into the world of TV. He ran the show for two years, from 1992 to 1996. From 1996 to 1999, he was a guest star on eight episodes of the hit TV show "Everybody Loves Raymond."

In 1998, he got a big break when he was chosen to play Doug Heffernan, the main character in the CBS sitcom "The King of Queens." People liked him a lot because he played a smart-mouthed package delivery guy. This made him very popular. It aired until 2007.

2006 was a very successful year for him. As a voice actor, he worked on "Barnyard," "Monster House," and "Emperor's New School." He also starred with his friend Ray Romano in the comedy film "Grilled."

In 2013, he was in the comedy with Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Salma Hayek called "Grown Ups 2." Even though critics didn't like the movie much, it did very well at the box office and was a commercial success.
