Leanne Morgan
Leanne Morgan is a talented comedian and actress best known for her roles in Thou Shalt Laugh 3 (2008), Stand-Up Nashville (2002), and Dry Bar Comedy (2017). Her relatable humor has made her a hit with a diverse audience. Despite her success, Morgan leads a seemingly normal life as a mother of three.
Early Life
Morgan grew up in Adams, Tennessee, a small town of about 600 people near the Kentucky border. Her family worked hard as farmers, with her father managing a farm, running a mail route, and even building a meat processing plant in their backyard. Her mother worked on a farm and cared for their home. Morgan's upbringing in rural areas and her strong Middle Tennessee accent sometimes proved challenging, especially when studying child and family studies and crisis counseling at the University of Tennessee.
Career
Morgan's career in comedy took off when her family moved to San Antonio in 2001. She quickly became a big name in the comedy
world after performing at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and being featured on ABC's "The View" as a funny housewife. She went on a three-year tour with the Southern Fried Chics, performed in theaters and comedy clubs throughout the US, and appeared on shows hosted by Dr. Phil and Paula Deen, both of whom are fans.
Morgan has co-hosted Chewing the Fat, a weekly Sirius XM/Blue Collar Radio radio show, and has toured with headliners Karen Mills and Trish Suhr as part of the trio country cool.
Her comedic skills landed her a spot at the famed Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, and sitcom development deals with ABC, Warner Brothers, TV Land, and Sony Television.
With over 1.5 million followers on social media, Morgan's popular stand-up special, "So Yummy," has been watched over 50 million times on YouTube. Her popularity stems from her ability to write about relatable topics such as being a housewife, exchanging Jell-O recipes, and welcoming a new grandchild into the family.
