Maddy Smith is a comedian, writer, and podcaster who gained fame for her appearance on the MTV game show Wild 'N Out. Known for her frenetic and fast-paced jokes, Smith's quick wit and talent for writing jokes are evident in her comedy. In 2019, she was named a Comedian to Watch by the New York Comedy Festival

Career

Smith is a stand-up comic based in New York City. She was named one of the New York Comedy Festival's Comedians to Watch in 2019. She has also written for Comedy Central's The Roast of Alec Baldwin and has appeared on the shows RoastMasters and Roast War.

Smith was drawn to the comedy scene when she moved to New York City. Prior to pursuing comedy full-time, she worked at an asset management firm for a year. After three years of working day and night, Smith was able to quit her office job, thanks to her success on Wild 'N Out. However, the job was about more than just making money.

Smith is often very hard on herself. She may have used this motivation to get through the challenging casting process for Wild 'N Out. To be included in the show's final televised cast, she had to attend a week of seminars.

When she's not filming Wild 'N Out in Atlanta, Smith can often be found performing on a comedy club stage in New York City.

She has gone on tour with Corinne Fisher and frequently performs at clubs in other locations, including Buffalo, Philadelphia, and Albany, as well as the New York Comedy Club, Stand Up NY, Carolines, and others.

In 2018, she performed at the Roast of Gloria Allred at the Friar's Club. Smith is a roast comedian and a stand-up comedian. She has contributed writing for the Friars Club roasts of Gloria Allred and Ric Flair.

Smith may have been a purist when it comes to stand-up comedy, but she has also been exploring social media lately. She realized that most of her new fans would only be able to see her perform some nights in New York.
