Olivier Martineau
Olivier Martineau is a stand-up comedian who hails from Quebec, Canada. He was born on 29th December 1981. His first eponymous one-man show was released in January 2015.
The year 2018 saw him sell more than 60,000 tickets for his show, thereby portraying just how much his fanbase had grown since the beginning of his journey in comedy.
Career and Achievements
Martineau has hosted multiple events and has also been a part of the Just for Laughs Festival as well as the ComediHa! Fest-Québec. The Just for Laughs Festival is a comedy festival that is conducted in Montreal every year in the month of July.
Initiated in 1983, it is considered as one of the biggest international comedy events in the world, and being a part of it is a huge honor for any comedian, and the same holds true for Martineau.
As his fame and popularity grew, he also journeyed across the Atlantic to do shows in Paris at venues such as the Jamel Comedy Club and the L'Humour en Capitales festival. He has also performed in Liège at Voo Rire in Morocco as part of the Marrakesh of Laughter.
Martineau was bestowed with the honor of the Nez d'or Révélation of the Festival Grand Rire de Québec in the year 2012. He also ended up winning the public prize and the first prize at the Abitibi-Témiscamingue Comedy Festival, which is a cultural event that takes place every summer in Val-d'Or, which is in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
Martineau also received the Victor Prize: Special Jury Mention at the Just for Laughs festival in 2016. In 2017, for the Festival d'humour d'Abitibi-Témiscamingue, he slipped into the role of a spokesperson. That same year, during the holiday season, he had his radio debut, too.
Along with hosting this show, he also presents his column to the world every week on Friday. Martineau has quite a substantial fan following on social media too. The comedian has collaborated with other renowned names in the world of comedy, such as Anthony Kavanagh, Jamel Debbouze, Jerry Seinfeld, and Gad Elmaleh.
He has been seen in shows such as Complexe G and La Dump.
