Lincoln Financial Field
The Lincoln Financial Field is a football stadium and event space located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When Jeffrey Lurie bought the Philadelphia Eagles in 1994, he believed that creating a new, top-of-the-line stadium would be an important factor in making the team an exclusive National Football League franchise. This goal became more than a dream in 2000, when the plans for the stadium were made public and funding was fully approved. By 2003, the Lincoln Financial Field held its first official, ticketed event—a soccer match against Manchester United and FC Barcelona.
Even today, the stadium primarily operates as a football and sports stadium. As such, American football’s followers will know it of course as the home of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles as well as Temple University’s Temple Owls. It can pull in a crowd of up to 69,176 per game.
The Lincoln Financial Center typically hosts 30-50 major events each year, bringing in tons of business for the city of Philadelphia, and tons of recreational options for the people. Compared to the former Veterans Stadium, which was demolished in 2004, the new stadium packs a punch. Although the seating capacities are comparable, the new stadium design offers twice as many sideline seats, twice as many wheelchair accessible seats, and triple the amount of luxury suite seats. In addition, there are plenty of new additions, such as club seats and club lounges. Other amenities include bonuses in parking, food, and bathrooms; these are the practical needs of a large event space. The sports complex can take up to 22,000 vehicles. There are 308 concession points of sale. In the old stadium, there was one stall for every 319 men; in the new stadium, there is one for every 58. These upgrades make the Lincoln Financial Center a safer, smoother event space for everyone involved.
Obviously, the big draw of Lincoln Financial Field are the games. Soon, visiting teams will include the Tulane Green Wave, the New England Patriots, the Seattle Seahawks, the UConn Huskies, the New York Giants, the West Point Black Knights, the Navy Midshipmen, and the Dallas Cowboys. When it is not football season, lacrosse championships and soccer games take the field. From time to time, musicians make the Lincoln Financial Field their stage. Kenny Chesney, Florida Georgia Line, and Old Dominion are some of these performers.
The Lincoln Financial Field can be found at 1 Lincoln Financial Field Way, Philadelphia, PA 19148. Book your seats soon to gain access to the latest and greatest sporting events in town.
