The two teams had crossed paths only twice during the postseason. The Bears are the current holder of the edge in head-to-head match finishing a record of 93-90-6. The Chicago Bears won the 1941 season and the Packers won the 2011 season.

Every late July and mid August, the team grips their twice a year training in the War Field located at the Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. The team is headquartered at the Halals Hall, situated in Chicago around the Lake Forest, Illinois.
