Houston Texans Games
The “Houston Texans” is a professional American Football team situated in Houston, Texas. The team is part of the South Divison, which plays in the American Football Conference (AFC) of the National Football League (NFL).
The team officially joined the National Football League (NFL) in the year 1992 after Houston’s former franchise, the Houston Oilers. The Texans are owned by Bob McNair, who is also the team’s major owner.
Bob McNair is an entrepreneur in Houston, Texas. In the year 1997, he aimed to bring an NHL expansion to the city but failed. At the time, the Houston Oilers were also relocated to Nashville and renamed itself as the Tennessee Titans.
The franchise of the team was part of the expansion along with Los Angeles and Toronto. At the time, the league anticipated another expansion to reach their target of 32 franchises. McNair founded the Houston NFL holdings and formally joined the league with his partner Steve Patterson.
Even though the franchise was originally granted to Los Angeles, because of the existing problems in ownership and stadium agreement at that time, the franchise was instead granted to Houston at the cost of $700 million. The franchise was the 32nd team in the National Football League (NFL).
The franchise was named as the Houston Texans and joined the NFL to play for the 2002 season. Their first home game was played at the Reliant Stadium. During their early years in the league, their early seasons turned out to be a little unsuccessful. However, the team got highlighted after Gary Kubiak arrived as the team’s head coach in 2006. The team’s record declined at the end of the 2008 season, but showed progress after recruiting Wade Philips (former head coach of Cowboys) as the team’s defensive coordinator.
During the 2011-2012 season, the Houston Texans won against the Cincinnati Bengals with a record of 31-10 and a record of 20-13 against the Ravens in the semifinals.
