Phil Roy
Phil Roy is a comedian who hails from Canada. Born on 17th April 1988, he is considered one of the richest and most popular comedians in the market.
He kept participating in improvisation leagues for a long time before getting himself enrolled at the National School of Humor. While this happened in 2009, it took just two years for everyone to know about him through La Tour des finissants cuvée 2011.
Before entering the field of comedy, he taught at an elementary school in Montreal.
Career and Achievements
For the 2011 Les Olivier Gala, Roy's performance got noticed for playing the character of a 'Facebook friend.' Since then, his fans have been noticing him in numerous other gigs.
Some examples are the Nobody columnists in A Guy in the Evening along with Jean-François Mercier, who is an actor, writer, and humorist, and for being a collaborator on V Télé in Brassard live today.
Quebec created an adaptation of Saturday Night Live, known as SNL Quebec, and is broadcasted on Télé-Québec. Roy became a part of SNL Quebec's team of in-house comedians in 2014.
Roy was also a part of the Le Nouveau Show, which is a sketch comedy series from Canada which initially released in 2015, and then went on to air on ICI ARTV and Ici Radio-Canada Télé in 2016. The creators of the show are the same creators who developed SNL Quebec.
He was felicitated with the Olivier Découverte of the Year award in the winter of 2016 at the Gala Les Oliviers. Monsieur, the name of Roy's first one-man show, had its first tour in 2017.
Roy got the opportunity to be on television in 2018 through Phil s'invite, which was aired on V Télé. The show was renewed for a second season in 2019 and turned out to be its last season.
His debut on radio took place in 2019 through Véronique et les Fantastiques, an immensely famous radio show. It was broadcasted on Rouge FM, and he played the role of a columnist named Fantastique.
Roy made a glamorous appearance on the red carpet at the Gala les Oliviers in 2018 with his wife by his side.
