NWSL Soccer
The NWSL, popularly known as the National Women's Soccer League, is a professional league for women's soccer. It is amongst the top tournaments in the United States league system. The team Washington spirit won the NWSL in 2021.

History
The National women's soccer league was founded in 2012 in succession to Women's professional soccer. Players began to register themselves by 2013, and Cheryl Bailey was announced as the executive director of the NWSL.
A total of 8 teams were formed, initially, which had now increased to 12 teams being a part of the national women's soccer league. The first-ever game was held on 13 April 2013.
NWSL league also became the first league for women in the US to continue for as long as three seasons. The fourth season of the company kick-started in 2016. In 2020, the management contract with US Soccer was terminated, and the sponsorship was transferred over to Nike Inc.
The 2020 season of the NWSL league was postponed and then canceled because of the COVID pandemic. A challenge cup was organized instead of the usual league, making the US the first sports league team to return to the ground/stadiums. The same year, an NWSL fall series was also organized where 18 games were played between various teams falling within a specific geographic location.
