A Heartwarming Story
The Ugly Duckling tells the story of a little duckling who goes through an important journey. The tale begins with that of a mother duck who gives birth to four children, of which three are beautiful, but the last one is considered grey and ugly by everyone.
The little duckling is made fun of by everyone and is constantly bullied. He receives no love and affection even from his family members. Upset and dejected, he decides to leave home.
Soon after, he comes across the house of a woman who has a cat and a hen. He believes that he can stay with them, but the woman’s pets torture him as well, causing him to leave that place, too.
The ugly duckling keeps wandering about and sees a group of beautiful swans swimming in the lake. He wants to join them but is scared that he will be shunned off.
Winter comes, and the ugly duckling is trying hard to endure the cold. Then, a miracle happens, and when he approaches the group of swans, they don’t shoo him away. Instead, they welcome him with love and affection, nurture him, and he becomes a part of their tribe.
As a result of the affection, he grows into a beautiful swan and isn’t an ugly duckling anymore. In fact, he then begins to be considered the prettiest swan of them all.
