Although Columbus, Ohio might not have the glitz, glamour, and name-recognition as other big cities in the United States such as Las Vegas and New York, it is the fourteenth most populous city in the United States and one of the fastest growing in the country. The Basement is in what’s known as Flytown, a neighborhood northwest of downtown Columbus. Historically, this was the Irish-American immigrant community’s stomping grounds, so it has a distinct local history.
