An Homage to Origins – The Plot

Kooza has its roots in the Sanskrit word ‘Koza,’ which means a box or a chest. And the play is the treasure of two traditional art forms of Cirque du Soleil – the art of clowning and acrobatics.

The plot opens with the story of an innocent and kind person who endeavors to find his place in society. He comes face to face with his fears of identification, individuality, and power.

He meets some people from different worlds of thrills and bravery. These include the arduous Trickster, King of Fools, insane Tourist, a Pickpocket, and his mad dog.

He falters from strengths and weaknesses, laughter and thrills to power and recognition. The show highlights the basic human urge for sustainability in career and society with the spark of jesting humor.

The Electrifying Circus

The touring circus premiered in 2007 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Manipulation of hoops, double highwire stunts, hilarious skeleton dance, and finally, the wheel of death are the highlights of this chilling show.

David Shiner, an artist in Cirque’s “Nouvelle Experience” and many other superhit plays, has beautifully penned and directed the musical.

Cirque showing its bent toward the roots and tradition this time, the costume designer Marie-Chantale Vaillancourt has selected reds, whites, and golden-hued attire for the parody.

The characters are from comic books, graphic novels, paintings, and Eastern European and Indian art forms. The jukebox is stirred by famous Indian music, orchestral music, songs from the movies from the 1940s, and pop music.
