A Story About Courage

A musical based on the peculiar, outlandish, and witty story of Roald Dahl, James and the Giant Peach Jr. is a production with tunes created by the team of Pasek and Paul, the Tony Award-nominated individuals.

The musical tells the story of James Trotter, who lost his parents due to a stampeding rhino. After spending some time at an orphanage, he is sent to live with his aunts, Spiker and Sponge, who are the only family he has left.

Much to James’ dismay, however, his aunts are extremely cruel, vicious, merciless, and constantly torture James. Ladahlord, who is a mystical man, encourages James to concoct a potion that will help in remedying his situation.

However, things take a weird turn, and he ends up creating a humongous peach along with human-sized insects. His aunts, being the opportunistic people they are, hatch a plan of making money from this experiment of his.

Destiny has its own plans, though, because the ants decide they have to escape the deathly grip of James’ aunts while also taking James along with them. In order to escape, they chop off the peach from the tree, and a whole new journey begins.
