Joe Gatto - a comedian, producer, and actor from America. His full name is Joseph Anthony Gatto Jr., and he is well-recognized for blockbuster TV shows “The Misery Index” and “Impractical Jokers.” This improvisational comedian tours to perform for sold-out crowds in live comedy shows across the world.
Gatto performed in legendary venues, including London’s O2 Arena and New York’s Madison Square Garden. He is one of the founders of "The Tenderloins Comedy Troupe”. When this American comedian isn’t performing, he bestows his entire love to his two kids and adorable rescue dogs, the “Gatto Pups.”
Rise As An Coveted Comedian
Joe Gatto was born in Staten Island, New York, on June 5, and he is of Italian descent. He became a member of an improvisation club along with Vulcano, Quinn, and Murray while attending Monsignor Farrell High School. However, they parted after schooling, and Gatto joined the private university LIU Post for a degree in Accounts.
Fascinatingly, all these members reunited and formed a sketch and improv comedy troupe named “The Tenderloins.” While touring many places, the troupe produced many comedy sketches posted on online platforms like Metacafe, YouTube, and Myspace. These sketches captured millions of people’s hearts online. Their sketch “Time Thugs” even earned them a $100,000 grand prize in NBC’s competition “It’s Your Show.”
In 2012, Gatto’s troupe, “The Tenderloins,” hosted a podcast you can catch on iTunes and their official website. This improvisational comedian had a glorious leap in his career after his hidden camera reality show “Impractical Jokes” premiered on TruTV in 2011. It became one of the most popular shows on TruTV, capturing over 32 million viewers.
After nearly eight years, “The Tenderloins” appeared in their next hit, “The Misery Index.” It’s a comedy game show based on the card game “Shit Happens” and developed for TBS, starring the host Jameela Jamil and “The Tenderloins” members, including Gatto.
Gatto even performed as a co-host in the podcast “Two Cool Moms” as a co-host. He gained more fans after appearing in superhit podcasts like “What A Joke With Papa,” “This Past Weekend with Theo Van,” and “Fortune and Life Is Short With Justin Long.”
Besides being a comedian, podcaster, and actor, Gatto is also known as an active proponent of the movement “Adopt, Don’t Shop.” He believes in adopting dogs from shelters and encourages others to do the same. Well, the comedian recently stepped away from “Impractical Jokers” for personal reasons.
This improvisational comedian is electrifying the stage with his gut-busting comedies. Gatto is presently touring across two countries and bucking up for nearly 44 upcoming concerts.
