Red Riding Hood tells the story of a girl who is called Little Red Riding Hood because of the red cape she always wears, which is something her beloved grandmother had gifted to her. The girl is very fond of her grandmother, and there is nothing the latter wouldn’t do for her granddaughter.

One day, when the grandma is very sick, the girl is asked by her mother to carry some cake and wine for her sick grandmother. As she is on her way, the girl comes across a cunning wolf who notices the food Little Red Riding Hood is carrying.

He then makes a plan to eat both the grandmother and the granddaughter. Managing to divert the little girl’s attention, he kills the grandmother and takes his disguise to fool the girl.

As she enters her grandmother’s house, the little girl knows something is off. However, the wolf attacks and eats up the girl, too. A woodsman, who suspects something is wrong, intervenes and saves the two women and frees them of the vile torture of the wolf, and all goes back to normal again.

A Lesson to Learn

A big lesson to learn through Little Red Riding Hood’s story is that although it’s good to be innocent and trusting, one shouldn’t be so naïve that they let just anyone fool them. While it’s true that looks can be deceptive at times, it’s best to trust your gut and not let yourself be swayed by people with cunning intentions.

 In the story as well, we learn that Red Riding Hood later came across many more people who tried to trick her, but she escaped them all.
