Moulin Rouge
Moulin Rouge is one of the few plays that has been iconic ever since its premiere. The show garnered popularity and made a name for itself. Today all theater lovers aspire to at least watch one reiteration of this hall of fame jukebox musical.
The play has also been adapted from the 2001 movie of the same name; inspiring the book by John Logan in the process. Today, it's not just a play but a cultural phenomenon worldwide, with the Broadway, run being its pioneer production.

The Moulin Rouge Cabaret Club Opens
The plot is intimate to all theater artists as it shows a performer's life. Therefore, when the talk of the first production during 2003-04 surfaced, Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor were willing to be a part of it.
However, the plan was shelved, and we were left to wait for 17 years to see the first production hitting Broadway at Al Hirschfeld Theater. Director Baz Luthermannn gave his best to realize the potential of the musical, making it one of the best and most memorable productions of all time.
Despite being just a decade old, Moulin Rouge is one of the cult classics, a rite of passage for all theater artists.
A Successful Past
Owing to the excellent performances and fantastic musical score: the musical ruled the 74th Tony Awards. It won 10 awards out of the 14 nominations it got bagging the Best Musical in the process.
Even though after the 2019 run, the show was halted due to a global pandemic, it has marked its entry with evergreen Sebastian and talented Satine ready to move us all.
The narration is still the same; with few recent changes, it still covers the story of musical Sebastion falling for the Cabaret star Satine and their ill-fated but musical journey to find love.
One of the best elements of the play is that we get to see the natural staging within the play. The two-act play covers rehearsals of other performances that have been fan favorites. For example, you'll see the rehearsals of Bohemian Rhapsody during the staging.
Other famous scores include the Welcome to Moulin Rouge, Finale, and the Bow music. It's challenging to track the interwoven songs that keep you tied to the show. On top of it, you have terrific acting by Derek Klena and Ashley Loren to keep you hooked.
Moulin Rouge is a must-watch. If you have been connected to the theater, this show is a shoutout to all your works and efforts. Or, if you are a novice wanting a short detour inside the entertainment world, the show is the best fit. Get your first tickets and see the magic happening.
