Indianapolis Colts Games
The “Indianapolis Colts” is a professional American Football team situated in Indianapolis, Indiana. The team is part of the South Division, which plays in the American Football Conference (AFC) of the National Football League (NFL). The Colts play their home games at the Lucas Oil Stadium, located in the downtown suburb of Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The Lucas Oil Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium, which was launched on August 16, 2008.
In the year 1953, the team was founded by a Baltimore-based group owned by Carol Rosenbloom. The Colts’ first season appearance was in Baltimore in 1953 with a losing record of 3-9. At the time, the team was under the coaching of Keith Molesworth.
Their early years of playing in Baltimore turned out to be a little unsuccessful, in fact, they were not able to get at least one winning record in a 4-year span. However, the team showed progress in their football career after Web Ewbank arrived as the team’s new head coach.
During the 1958 season, the Colts ended with a 9-3 record and made their way to the National Football League (NFL) championship game. The team also won the National Football League Western Conference for the first time in their gaming history.
The Colts had consecutive winning records in the following seasons. The team won again in the 1959 season with a record of 9-3 against the New York Giants. The Giants lost their game against the Colts for the second time in the National Football League (NFL) championship.
After winning NFL championships in the years 1958 and 1959, the team failed to appear again in the NFL championship in four seasons. From head coach EwBank, the team shifted to Don Shula in the year1963.
In eras of playing in the NFL, the team had some changes in the management and ownership after the year 1963. The team was relocated to Indianapolis in 1984, since their relocation, the team appeared in the playoffs 16 times. The Colts won one Super Bowl against the Chicago Bears and won two conference finals.
