New Orleans Saints Games
The “New Orleans Saints” is a professional American football team situated in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. The team is part of the South Division, which plays in the National Football Conference (NFC) of the National Football League (NFL).
Under the ownership of David Dixon and John W. Mecom, the Saints were founded in the New Orleans and started playing at the Tulane Stadium in the year 1967. The team played their home games at the Tulane Stadium until the year 1974. After 1974, the team moved their home games at the Louisiana Superdome (now the Mercedez Benz Superdome) in the year 1975. For the record of their gaming history in the league, the Saints were quite unsuccessful and a little incompetent compared with the other NFL teams.
The team achieved their first winning season in the year 1987 with a completed record of 12-3. For the first time in their history, the Saints made their way to the playoffs against the Minnesota Vikings with a losing record of 44-10.
The team wanted to prove their worth in the NFL by winning the 1988 season with a 10-6 record. They finally achieved their first playoff victory against the St. Louis Rams with a record of 31-28 in the year 2000. By misfortune, the city of New Orleans was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in the year 2005. The Superdome was used for emergency shelter and the team’s scheduled games were moved to other Stadiums outside the area of New Orleans. Saints tickets are available for sale at CheapoTicketing.
The city of New Orleans holds a large Catholic population. The ‘Saints’ was ideally taken out from the influence of the November 1 All Saints Day Celebration of the Catholic faith. In fact, the spiritual “When the Saints Go Marching In” is strongly accompanied with the New Orleans and the song is often sung by their fans during games. View below for the complete Saints schedule.
