Stomp
The performances associated with the name Stomp are just as intriguing as the peculiar name itself. We all live among many day-to-day noises and things that produce them. What this theatrical group does is combine everyday things to make music.
Yes, you read that right. Stomp makes music primarily out of everyday utility items. The Brighton-originated group uses pantomimes, acrobatics, and other theatrical techniques to impress their audiences.
Steven McNicholas and Luke Cresswell gave birth to this spectacular idea while working together at Pookiesnackburger. They finally started their own performance in 1991 by producing music using nearby objects and bodies. Their show was an instant hit and reached West End in no time.
Catch all the fun in real time by seeing the show live.
From Brighton To Sesame Street
Over a decade, the group was formed from the dancing duo's discipline. The group performed street comedy on stage, the first of its kind. While the genre was relatively new, the music was the same.
Because of their standard yet off-beat music, the group holds an individual accolade in percussion music and performances. Today, they are also known for their dance numbers based on the same theme. Some performances such as Let's Make Music, Pulse: A Stomp Odyssey, Stomp Out Litter, and Pandemonium is part of the Off-Broadway Hall of Fame.
So far, it has appeared on many American shows and has made a name for itself. You will get to see several references, the appearance on Sesame Street, American Dad, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia until 2019.
Enjoy the Live Show!
While the COVID 19 did affect the production in the last two years, the percussion music was not stopped. And in 2022, the groups started using the same technique in many Off-Broadway performances again.
Stomp Out Loud is one example where we see the acrobatic performers dancing it all out in the beats of percussive music and a well-lit stage. It is a visual treat, with the funky music blasting from the stage.
If you are someone who loves dancing to the beat, the show is cut out just for you. Get your tickets quickly and reserve an evening of fun with Stomp. See show timings below and book your tickets.
