Arizona Cardinals Games
The “Arizona Cardinals” is a professional American Football team situated in Glendale, Arizona. The team is part of the West Division, which plays in the National Football Conference of the National Football League (NFL). In the year 1898, the team was founded in Chicago and became the official franchise member of the football league in the year 1920.
Since the National Football League (NFL) was formed, the team is one of two NFL charter members still functioning. In the year 1960, the Cardinals were relocated to St. Louis, Missouri and played until the year 1987. The team was sometimes termed as the “Football Cardinals” or the “Big Red” to dodge confusions with the major league baseball team in St. Louis, the St. Louis Cardinals.
The team moved to Tempe, Arizona after the 1987 to 1988 season. For the next 18 years, the Cardinals have played their home games at the Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Stadium. In the year 2006, the team moved their home games at the University of Phoenix Stadium in the Western area of Glendale. The Cardinals were given nicknames such as the “Cardiac Cards” and the “Gridbirds”, the ‘Gridbirds’ is only used by a local newspaper correspondent while the ‘Cardiac Cards’ is the nickname used to refer the team in 1975.
At the time when the Cardinals were still based in Chicago, they won two NFL championships during the years 1925 and 1947. However, after winning their last title in the year 1947, the Cardinals experienced struggles as they had frequent losses in the following seasons. The team is currently a title holder of the NFL’s longest active championship drought.
In eras of their existence, the team only made six playoffs and only won one NFC championship game and gotten to Super Bowl XLIII. In the year 2012, the Cardinals became the first and only league’s franchise to build the worst records of 700 lost games since the year of its franchise.
