TD Garden: Events Schedule, Tickets and more...
TD Garden – or The Garden – is a large multi-function arena in Boston. It was built to replace the old Boston Garden, which was known to locals and FleetCenter and TD Banknorth Garden. The current incarnation of the arena proudly takes the spot as the largest sports and entertainment venue in all of New England. It welcomes in more than 3.5 million spectators each year, bringing ice shows, family shows, sporting events, concerts, comedy features, and more to locals. Throughout the nation, Boston is known as a great city for sports. The capital of Massachusetts and the largest city in the region, its major sports teams have fierce followings, from the Red Sox (baseball) to the Bruins (ice hockey) to the Celtics (basketball). Two of the city’s most influential and beloved teams – the Celtic and the Bruins – began looking for a new arena at the same time back in the 1970s. By 1985, team leaders had secured rights to start construction. After building funding, ground broke in 1993. When the arena opened doors in 1995, $160 million had been invested in the project, and the building covered 3.2 city acres. The new build ended up being less than a foot away from the old arena.
However modest the difference in distance, the upgrades to the space made all of the distance. TD Garden has a fantastic HD entertainment board, complete with advertising panels, playbacks, and score panels. It also contains a see-through shot clock, years before the NBA mandated the feature, ensuring that they stay ahead of the curve. LED energy efficient lighting, updated club restaurants, located retail shop, and other enhancements have kept The Garden up-to-par with contemporary audiences.
With a capacity of around 20,00 and the ability to have ice, floorboards, and hardwood, The Garden is a versatile space for large-scale events. In addition to seeing the Boston Bruins and the Boston Celtics, sports fans can enjoy special gymnastics and wrestling events. Ice shows, such as Disney On Ice: Road Trip Adventures, also make a regular stop at TD Garden, perfect for family fun time. In addition, TD Garden pulls in some of the biggest musical tours in the nation, spotlighting the likes of Billie Eilish, Michael Buble, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, and My Chemical Romance.
