Amway Center
Orlando, Florida is known as one of the grandest theme park destinations in the world, known for marvelous attractions like Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando, and a dozen others. However, it is to just the theme parks that make Orlando an entertainment industry giant. Venues like the Amway Center honor the legacy of entertainment in central Florida.
The Amway Center is the ultimate sports and entertainment venue. It was created as part of the Downtown Orlando’s “Master Plan 3”, an intensive project aimed towards making the best of some of the event spaces owned by the City of Orlando, which included updating Camping World Stadium and finishing the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, too. The Amway Center opened in 2010. Its standout quality architecturally is the modern design, complete with gleaming metal and glass, clean lines for a vibrant presence. Interestingly, the venue was designed with sustainability in mind, equipped for water efficiency, energy optimization, atmosphere protection, resource conservation, and eco-preferred maintenance practices. For these reasons, the Amway Center prides itself on being a dual-hit that is very of-the-times: high-performance and environment-conscious.
Amway Center Events are Spectacular
Inside, few people would realize that the space is greener than other venues, because no comfort and experience corners have been cut. In total the venue is 875,000 square feet, and it has a 180-foot tower building the city skyline. There are big seats with great sightlines. Concessions populate every level of the building. The scoreboard is the largest in NBA-ready spaces at 42 feet and 40+ tons. The space can hold up to 18,500 people, but as with any venue, that number fluctuates based on the configuration for the particular Amway Center event. Compared to the old Amway Center, the new one is three times the size and better in possibly every way.
Amway Center Schedule Includes All Types of Events
The Amway Center schedule includes events such as the concerts series, to NCAA and NBAA games, to Olympic ice and track trials, to UFC, to NHL, to PBR, to comedy tours, to extreme sports and motorsports shows, to other family events.
