Baltimore Ravens Games
The “Baltimore Ravens” is a professional American football team situated in Baltimore, Maryland. The team is part of the North Division, which plays in the American Football Conference (AFC) of the National Football League (NFL).
In the year 1996, the team was formally established when Art Modell (former owner of the Cleveland Browns) has revealed his plans to move the franchised team in the city of Baltimore. Modell and the league made an agreement that he must leave the Brown’s name, the color and the heritage in the city of Cleveland to get a replacement team for the year 1999.
After complying the favors given by the league, Modell was permitted to bring his players to Baltimore, where his club would be legally perceived as an expansion team. Since the year 1998, the team plays their home games at the M & T Bank Stadium in downtown suburb of Baltimore.
During their early years, the Ravens have achieved great success. In fact, the team has reached the playoffs nine times and won two Super Bowl victories, they also won two AFC championships and four division titles.
For the record, the team is currently recognized as the only team in the National Football League (NFL) to hold a perfect record in several Super Bowl appearances. The name of team “Ravens” was ideally inspired from a poem written by Edgar Allan Poe, the poem was entitled “The Raven”. Poe had lived and died in Baltimore in the year 1849.
Since the year 2002, the organization of the team has been managed by Ozzie Newsome, Newsome was the team’s general manager with three head coaches in his organization, namely Ted Marchibroda, John Harbaugh and Brian Billick.
