Covered entirely by Darko Tresnjak, an award-winning director, Anastasia had made up the list of world-premieres at the Hartford Stage in Connecticut. It completed an entirely record-breaking, sold-out run before transferring to the Broadhurst Theater of Broadway on March 23rds.
Anastasia is witnessed on the national tour across the United States, garnering the best musical awards in Netherlands, Germany, and Spain.
The smaller kids are not the only ones enjoying a great princess story. The 1997 movie Anastasia entertained both kids and adults with its engaging plot and classical songs for years. In 2016, it inspired the musical adaptation across Broadway.
However, the musical had closed in New York for a couple of years while it arrived in San Jose following the pandemic.
The Plot
Anastasia is an enchanting story having better appeals to audiences of every age. The classic music, engaging characters, and beautiful costumes will make their viewers love the experience of a fairytale on stage right in front of their eyes.
It follows the legendary story of Anastasia, the Russian princess. Her family was met with a fatal end by the communist revolutionaries in 1918 when she was a kid.
In the plot, Anastasia escaped the murder of her family, and however. She hit her head while running away, causing her to lose every memory of becoming a princess.
When she grew up, she was known by the name of Anya. Meanwhile, two clever conmen, Vlad and Dmitry, set out on a quest searching for a girl who willingly pretends to lose the princess.
Whenever they check out Anya, they notice her resemblance to Anastasia while believing they can convince her to take up this role. They are offering to take her to Paris to meet her grandmother while they are receiving a substantial reward to recover the longer-lost members of this royal family.
Anya should start learning how to become a princess while avoiding the new leader of Russia, who wishes to prevent all types of royalty from returning to power. Anya slowly starts regaining her memory throughout this journey, discovering that she is Princess Anastasia.
Music forms the essential part of bringing back the fairy tale to life, while Anastasia is not getting it done through the ease with the elegant and joyful songs.
