Dave Nihill is an Irish stand-up comedian. He was born and brought up in Dublin, Ireland, where he lived till he was 22 years old. The comedian left Ireland at a young age, getting drunk while traveling, and says that he never really experienced sobriety post it.

Being someone who doesn’t hail from America and who keeps performing worldwide, the themes of his sets and shows cover a wide range of topics.

This includes all the places he has traveled across the globe, his observations on culture, attempts at language study, international drinking gatherings, and being an immigrant who is always slightly confused with how people behave around the world.

Nihill has worked and resided in 12 countries and has visited more than 70 countries, proving his wanderlust tendencies.

Career and Accomplishments

Nihill ended up being the winner of the annual San Francisco Comedy Competition, which is a well-reputed event and stand-up comedy contest.

In this competition that receives more than 100 applications, about 30 comedians get the chance to perform at restaurants, bars, clubs, and theaters in San Francisco and around the Bay Area.

Each contestant is required to perform for a unique group of judges for every individual show, and they are all scored in seven categories. The competition has previously seen famous names in the form of finalists, such as Ellen DeGeneres, Robin Williams, and Dana Carvey.

Nihill was also the runner-up at the Moth’s largest US Grand Slam storytelling competition. Along with being a comedian, he is also a bestselling author. In 2019, Nihill recorded his debut special for Dry Bar Comedy.

He got featured on Sirius XM, TED.com, Inc, NPR, The Irish Independent, and the Huffington Post, among other reputed names.

The comedian’s videos have gone viral numerous times, gathering more than 200 million views. He has a social media following of over a million.
