Esther Povitsky
Esther Povitsky is a stand-up comedian and actress. She was formerly known by her stage name, which was Little Esther. Her name is famous in the comedy circle of Los Angeles.
She is also popular for her podcast titled Weird Adults With Litter Esther. In this podcast, Povitsky explores what makes her fellow comedian buddies weird in their adulthood era. She has co-created Alone Together, the sitcom, and has also starred in it.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, she grew up in the village of Skokie, and she finished her high school education at Niles North High School in the year 2006. Povitsky went to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, from where she dropped out three years later to begin a career in comedy.
Career and Accomplishments
While the other kids her age were busy engaging themselves in other fun activities, all Povitsky was interested in was watching Saturday Night Live and hoping to watch comedy shows.
She eventually went on to study comedy at iO Chicago and The Second City in Chicago. Povitsky then moved to Los Angeles, where she studied at The Groundlings. She was a regular performer at places such as The Ice House, The Comedy Store, and The Improv.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which was a TV series that ran from 2016 to 2019, had Povitsky as a recurring star through the character of Maya.
She has been seen in numerous other television shows, such as Parks and Recreation, Love, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Difficult People, New Girl, and Daddy Knows Best. Povitsky had also participated in the reality competition show Last Comic Standing in 2015 when the show was in its 9th season.
She was the first woman to ever make an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, post which she became a regular podcaster with Deathsquad TV. The comedian was the host of Little Esther's Piecast, and she has also co-hosted Brode & Esther along with comedian Brody Stevens.
Povitsky often refers to herself as a theatrical comedian obsessed with everything related to comedy, making constant references to the comedy environment in Los Angeles. She is also associated with another podcast, Glowing Up, which is based on beauty and makeup, along with Caroline Goldfarb, who is a writer.
Comedy Central released Povitsky's debut comedy special titled Hot for My Name in July 2020.
