Nick Thune

Nick Thune is a comedian, actor, and musician. Born on 8th December 1979 in Seattle, Washington, he shifted to Los Angeles to have a career in stand-up comedy. During his earlier shows, he would focus on wordplay while also playing guitar.

Later on, he said that this was done more with the intention of having the guitar as a prop than to develop musical humor. In 2007, he got featured in a Comedy Central Presents special, and he has performed a total of eight times on The Tonight Show.

Career and Accomplishments

Thune's performance was a part of the DTD Reality concert at the University of Southern California in February 2009. He came out with his debut album, Thick Noon, on 23rd February 2010, produced by Comedy Central Records.

Nick Thune: Folk Hero, the name of his first hour-long stand-up special, was released on Netflix in February 2014. The special also came out later on vinyl and in a CD format.

The release of his second stand-up comedy special, Good Guy, came about on 22nd December 2016 on NBC's Seeso platform, which was filmed in Portland, Oregon in October of 2016.

Most of the content of this particular comedy special centered on the thoughts Thune had before the birth of his first child. Another reason it was special and unique is that he didn't use his guitar for the first time throughout his performance.

It was during one of his previous performances, where he couldn't perform with his guitar since he had broken his arm he realized that it was quite okay performing even without its presence.

Thune landed the lead role in the 2010 NBC pilot for Beach Lane, where he was cast along with Matthew Broderick. Sadly, however, the pilot wasn’t picked, and the series didn’t develop further.

He has had guest appearances in programs such as Traffic Light, Happy Endings, and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23.

Thune collaborated with Kevin Parker Flynn, his creative partner, to develop a pilot episode in 2016. It was titled Holy Sh*t, and the story revolved around a small church that avoids being taken over by a bigger church.

The production company owned by Mila Kunis produced the pilot episode. Thune starred as a guest character in Love Life, where he played the role of Magnus, opposite Anna Kendrick.
