State Farm Arena (Formerly Philips Arena)
Formerly called the Philips Arena, State Farm Arena is an excellent event space in Atlanta, Georgia. It is one of the most recently renovated arenas in the United States, reopening its doors in October of 2018. The project was massive, making it the second largest renovation in NBA history. This multi-purpose indoor arena is known as a next-generation sporting venue, designed with the experience, service, and entertainment in mind. Long gone are the days of uncomfortable seating, pricy add-ons, and limited fare; everyone who goes to State Farm Arena can have a great time. The venue originally opened in 1999, but it was renovated in 2017 and 2018. The renovation brought a number of high-end upgrades to Atlanta: the third-largest center-hung scoreboard in the NBA, mesmerizing video playbacks and enhancements, fair food pricing, high-end restaurant selections, Topgolf Swing Suites, handicap-accessible spaces, and more. State Farm Arena also holds a number of “celebrity-inspired spaces,” meant to give every part of the venue a premium feel. Few other places can create that caliber of experience for so many guests.
Although the arena was first built with NHL in mind, the Atlanta Thrashers left the arena in 2011, after over a decade there. However, the event lineup has been packed since the renovation. Currently, State Farm Arena has a contract with the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club. Therefore, people can expect regular games between the team and its opponents, such as the Washington Wizards, the Philadelphia 76ers, the New York Knocks, the Miami Heat, the Orlando Magic, and the Boston Celtics. In addition, speaker events, concerts, comedy shows, wrestling matches, and other live-performance events are a regular part of the repertoire. Recent and upcoming guests include Oprah Winfrey, Julianne Hough, Dwayne Johnson, Tool, Alan Jackson, The Eagles, Marilyn Manson, Omarion, Gabriel Iglesias, Andre Rieu, Erykah Badu, Bow Wow, Soulja Boy, Ashanti, Ozzy Osbourne, Tame Impala, Wild n Out, Harry Styles, and Jenny Lewis. There is something for everyone.
